Benelli 49x Mini Review

The Benelli 49x or 'Quattro Nove’ as it's known in Italy is one of the best scooters around. Available with either Fat 10" sport trek or 12" road tyres it strikes the right cord from day one. This little beauty was first seen as a concept on the Benelli stand in Milan but now it’s here and doing very well indeed!

With strong aggressive styling, dual headlight setup, LED indicators and LED rear lights, this scooter has real Benelli styling taken straight from its bigger brothers.

Exposed handlebars give a refreshing look and provide a great upright riding position to suit just about any rider, a good wide and comfortable seat just add to the mix. A low fuel tank situated under the riders’ legs gives great balance and adjustable rear shock makes handling a dream.

Storage is good too. Not quite enough for a large full face or enduro but it will fit an open or small full face helmet.

Another neat feature is the seat release, it’s opened by turning the key when in the ignition. The oil premix tank is easy to see and positioned low down to aid balance.

The sports power pipe really stands out and adds to the overall sports appeal of this scooter. But it’s not just all looks, this scooter really moves. The smooth 2 stroke engine packs a punch and great lightweight design means this is one of the fastest scooters around with great stopping power too from its wavy front disc break.

Benelli have really thought about the design on this one, low balance, great engine, easy accessibility, fantastic looks and excellent handling. And at only £1399 OTR, it’s almost a steal when compared to its competitors.
